First thing, we match you with a therapist and schedule your first appointment. At this first appointment we will do a CDA (comprehensive diagnostic assessment) which is an in-depth assessment of your history (past major events in your life, prior psychological/therapeutic treatment, medications, etc.), your current situation (living arrangements, support system, etc.), your symptoms (depression, worry, stress, anxiety, fear, social struggles, anger, sleep disturbances) current health conditions which may or may not be affecting your mental health condition but are always a factor in your life. The purpose of this assessment is multi-faceted, serving to help your counselor develop a plan of care while identifying your unique needs. The second appointment is where you and your therapist develop your treatment plan, a document that states the goals you wish to reach, what it is you hope to gain from your time in therapy.

Ability Health and Rehabilitation also offers Telehealth services for those who are unable to attend in person therapeutic sessions.

Ability Health and Rehabilitation is proud to be one of the few agencies in the Treasure Valley to offer internal transportation services. We offer Medicaid Transport from your home to the office and back home. Not all insurances cover transportation so we have built a low-cost structure to enable those who do not qualify for Idaho Medicaid Transport services to still receive assistance in obtaining the therapeutic services they want and deserve access too. ****

Ability Health and Rehabilitation offers Internal Transportation Services to all its members. However, it is our policy that we do not transport children without a parent present who are younger than primary school age. Children requiring a car seat must have one provided by the parent, however we do have booster seats available for children no longer legally required to be in a car seat. While we do transport children, picking them up from their home or school, parental involvement in youth therapy services is a crucial component of the child’s success in therapy. *****

The therapists at Ability Health and Rehabilitation are well versed in several therapeutic styles and modalities. Our staff has experience in Marriage and Family therapy, Trauma therapy, EMDR and much more. There is two ways to determine what services your insurance covers. The first is to contact your insurance company through their member services line (number usually located on the back of your insurance card) or you can contact our office and we can reach out to your insurance to determine the level of coverage your insurance provides. Our standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. However, we do offer evening and weekend hours by previously arranged appointment. Many of our field services providers work evenings and weekends, however, we do not work in the field past 8:00pm. *We are currently hiring to expand our hours to better service our community and will update this section as necessary.

Ability Health and Rehabilitation has several different providers of both genders available in an attempt match our members with the best provider for their comfort and need. However, we do not have providers of each gender at this time for the services of peer support or medication management. *******

Our therapy providers are all licensed master’s level or above. All of our providers undergo continuing education and development to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of our members and are current with best practice approaches. This means that our providers are capable of treating members of the community with most forms of mental illness or co-occurring disorders. Our providers will be the first to say if they feel they are unable to assist you in your mental health treatment/recovery goals. *Our current staff members have the credentials of PhD, LMFT, LMSW, PMHNP-BC.

We do offer telehealth services for our established clients of counseling/therapy services and Medication Management Services. All Medication Management Telehealth sessions must be completed via video appointment through our EHR system. All first time appointments must be completed in person.

Ability Health and Rehabilitation accepts a multitude of various insurances. Please see our Accepted Insurances page for a detailed list. If you don’t see your insurance in the list please contact our office to see if we have recently credentialed with your insurance, If we are not currently credentialed with your insurance we will do everything within our power to do so in order to serve your needs. *********

All of Ability Health and Rehabilitation staff members undergo training regarding religious and cultural sensitivity.

Ability Health and Rehabilitation’s office is ADA accessible. We are a first-floor facility with two disability reserved parking spaces, wheelchair/walker sidewalk access, dual doors to accommodate wider wheelchair access as well as ADA complaint bathrooms, hallways and therapy room access. Ability Health and Rehabilitation does work with children. At this time, we work with children age 5 and older. However, we are in the process of hiring a provider who has more experience working with younger children and will update this section once we have completed the hiring process and have our provider in place. At this time, we provide Substance Abuse outpatient therapy sessions only.

Yes, we work with adults of all ages and all conditions from all walks of life.
